Abbie is a certified birth doula who lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children. She has been fascinated by the rites of passage of birth and parenthood for as long as she can remember and decided to pursue doula training in 2022. After having her first child at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, she learned firsthand how crucial it is for birthing people to have access to the perinatal care they want and need, the vital role that community plays in raising new families, and how little is taught to expecting parents about postpartum planning and recovery.

Through her trainings she has learned to explore her privilege as a white, able-bodied person and is committed to challenging the structures of white supremacy, heteronormativity, and ableism/sanism and how they affect birthing people. Her superpowers include prepping nourishing meals, reading the room, giving excellent hugs, getting anything done while baby wearing, and functioning on little sleep.
